Gastroenteritis is the second most common disease
after respiratory ailments, and a debilitating ailment
that affects millions of people a year. It is also a leading cause of death of infants, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems, which is why diarrhea should not be allowed to run its course. *

Acutis Reveal™ quickly determines whether or not cases of diarrhea are infectious. It determines the specific bacteria, viral and parasitic pathogens so that medical providers can then take a more specific course of action, for example if the bacterial toxin is identified as E. coli (STEC), the use of antibiotics may not be appropriate. Or, if it is a case of Clostridium difficile toxins A and B, swift action maybe called for due to its contagious nature.

In recent times, these particular pathogens have become notorious as they become better known to the general public. Our test goes some way to calm your patients’ anxiety.

Acutis Reveal™ correctly identifies sources of illness so that physicians and others won’t be distracted by common symptoms such as abdominal pain, gas,
constipation, or diarrhea. This test also provides the necessary etiological distinctions, which lead to the most appropriate treatment. And, as these illnesses
are often contagious or require immediate care, the faster results are returned,
the quicker their threats can be contained.
